You know those moments in life that turn into stakes crushed into the ground of the path you’ve been walking; the moments that completely change you, change your life’s plan, or even the way you see people? We are all inevitably delivered moments that smother our ideals and desires. This thing called sin, it truly wreaks havoc on our world and our hearts. May is Lyme Disease Awareness month, which leads me to share about one of those staked moments I mentioned above.
Mom Guilt
Mom guilt. Bleh. Just bleh. Its “solutions” have been summarized in memes traveling the globe. Drown it in wine and chocolate. Bury it with more Netflix. Joke about it in your own funny video. While these clever quips offer us some empathy, knowing that we’re not the only mom experiencing a hurdle doesn’t feel like enough to ease our pain.

As I write this, It’s week four of social distancing for us and week one of social distancing from grandparents. For me this means no childcare (insert crazy face emoji), no breaks, almost no naps, prepping for potty training (tomorrow = panties) and needing to focus on my business but not being able to. Hello Friends! I hope all of you are happy and healthy. April is Stress Awareness month, which is a little too on the nose right now. The world is so different than it was just a month ago. It’s almost too much to wrap my mind around. If you are like me, it is easy to get worked up about things that you cannot control. I would have never considered myself a control freak before COVID-19, however that has changed. Now, I find myself in a cyclical thinking pattern trying to figure out the point of all of this.
