God cares about racism. As Christ’s followers, we should care. Our country has been confronted and forced to deal with the reality that prejudice, inequality, and racism still exist in 2020. As emotionally draining as it might be, we cannot simply go back to “normal,” because if normalcy includes injustice and oppression then we as God’s Church should desire something better--a community in which ALL people can flourish.

We are all inevitably delivered moments that smother our ideals and desires. This thing called sin, it truly wreaks havoc on our world and our hearts. May is Lyme Disease Awareness month, which leads me to share about one of those staked moments I mentioned above.

Embracing Your Season
I just finished addressing my daughter's graduation announcements and am packing for her senior trip. Forty-six years of life has made me intimately aware of the seasons and how quickly they pass. At first, I found myself wishing seasons away, either because I didn’t have the emotional bandwidth to feel the feels, or I didn’t have the time to stop and be present. Thankfully, somewhere along the way, I realized I was wishing away precious time I could never get back.
