Before you decide what to do with your significant other this Valentine’s Day, my advice to you would be to learn your person’s love language. Yes, it is helpful to know their Enneagram, their Myers-Briggs, and any other personality test you may like. However, speaking a person’s love language is the way to their heart and you have plenty of time before Valentine’s Day to read the book, The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts! Let me give you a few reasons I highly recommend reading this book...
Gary’s book is such an easy read! He gives you all the resources in one. You learn about the 5 ways people naturally prefer to give and receive love, how to speak each love language, how to discover your own love languages, and how expressing love the way someone prefers it will make a difference.
This is not only for loving your spouse! This particular book, yes, but not the powerful principle behind it. Gary has love language books geared toward teenagers, children, singles, and even the military. We can learn how to love everyone better, not just our spouse, through his love language books.
Already read it? Read it again! Even if we think we “know” these love languages, it is so good to be reminded! I have read the book before, but I learned many new things and was reminded of great advice the second time through. We will never perfect loving one another.
It is going to benefit every relationship you apply it to! When we work to love others well, we will see a difference in that person and in ourselves. What a simple thing to do change, how we express our love to a person, for such a great reward.
What is your love language? Discover it in Gary’s book and share it with your friends and family! Let’s strive to love each other better in 2019 through speaking in love.
