Since Valentine’s Day is on a Sunday this year, what better way to celebrate than with a yummy brunch treat or a festive breakfast for dinner?! Whether celebrating with your one true love, serving little ones, or feasting with your best gals, we think breaking bread (or in this case biscuits) together is a perfect way to show the love.
We invite you to pull out your favorite biscuit recipe (we recommend a delicious buttermilk biscuit) and this chocolate gravy recipe shared by our dear friend Elaine Brown. Elaine opened our eyes to chocolate gravy over 20 years ago and we have never been the same. It is crucial that you slather each side of your warm biscuit with butter, prior to gracing it with this decadent chocolate gravy. Serve alongside some yummy fruit (we are all about balance, after all) and a good protein like eggs and/or bacon. Enjoy!
Chocolate Gravy
1 1/2 c. Sugar
5 T. Cocoa
5 T. Flour
2 1/2 c. Milk
Stir in saucepan over medium heat until thick
Add 2-3 T. Butter
2 tsp. Vanilla
Mix well. Serve over hot, buttered biscuits and ENJOY!
